| Well it's easier to teach the way you have been taught? Right? So, I will use a sheet that I got from a Global Kids workshop (I will paraphrase it somewhat)! So thank you GK ;D! What is Nuclear Proliferation? It is the spread of nuclear technology from nation to nation (proliferation is the massive or rapid growth or spread or increase of something). This includes nuclear weaponry and also power plants. How much of a threat is it? Both Bush and Kerry recognized Nuclear Proliferation as the biggest threat to the United States during the 2004 Presidential debate. What countries have these weapons? Well, there are only 5 nations that are considered "nuclear weapons states" which is an internationally recognized status set by the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treat (aka: NPT). These countries are: US, Russia, UK, France, and China. However, there are many other nations suspected of having nuclear weaponry. Such as: India, Pakistan, North Korean, Iran, and Israel. A map of nations with nuclear history can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Nuclear_weapon_programs_worldwide_oct2006.png. Also wikipedia offers a list of nations with nuclear here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_states_with_nuclear_weapons. Feel free to check it out! What has been the international responce to this? To prevent nuclear proliferation of weapons the NPT had been created, which was an international treaty whose objective was to prevent the spreading of nuclear weapons and nuclear technology (yes they are so specific~ instead of using the term nuclear proliferation they decided to define it -.-) to promote co-operation in the peaceful means of using nuclear energy. A further goal they are looking to achieve is nuclear disarmament--general and complete disarmament. This treaty is a widely accepted arms control agreement and as of 2006 188 nations had been a part of this treaty. The only nations that are not a part of this are: Pakistan, India and Israel. I hope through rephrasing I didn't misuse any words. But I will cite the sources so everyone can go and take a deeper look into the topic~! | It's interesting you mention that. The War On Terror is one of the biggest threats we are facing today.... but I'm sure the Iraq was itself is not a threat o.o~ But yeah. The reason I say it's interesting you say that is because~ o.o in a 2004 Campaign Ad that Bush did he used the exact same quote that Johnson used in his "Daisy Girl" Ad... ("These are the stakes") to characterize the war on terror. I can't seem to find the AD...but yeah... sorry >.<~ it was very interesting though... | |

| Well...I like to look at things logically. I think most americans look at war as only war. I say, Why war? And when you look at all the different things that lead to the decision for war, and why we are still in Iraq, It really does make quite a bit of sense. Also, when I think logically about the american people themselves, I realize that the average american is a hell of a lot dumber than Bush, so their opinion really doesn't matter to me. I also think that american's reaction to this war speaks much of selfishness...only caring about ourselves. I think that is a really sad way to look at things. | |

Edit: BTW...I was reading random comic stuffs and...I played trombone in highschool and our trombone section kicked ass. Course...We did have the best highschool band in the state of Utah...College level playing from what I heard...If I had actually tried in other classes I could ha' gotten a scholarship in musikness easy :p
Edit 2: Also...new pic specially done for this site. Painted that in middle school lol. | |

| true true.
i play trombone for marching band. ^^ i dont think we're that good. but we're a small band and we play better than most bands so that means alot. i think southwest dekalb would be the best in ga. they're friggn awesome, but whatever. but my fav is SMB (the Brooklyn Steppers) but it's in ny. they come to ga every year and they are the bomb.
it looks.. o.0'' xD | |
